She fought hard and made others laugh in spite of facing death
In 2021, Tina started having issues with her arms, later to be diagnosed with ALS.She fought hard, but ALS is a death sentence. There is no surviving it regardless of what you do. The only real treatment is stem cell research to rebuild the damaged neurons.Tina was later diagnosed with cancer, and yet she still tried to smile.Today is October 21, 2026. The loss is still real and still hurts. My wish for those who have to go through this is to make the best of what you can. In this disease, time varies depending on the individual, so make as many memories as you can.We thought we had a few years. Really, we had days and a brief timeline.**FYI: MAY BE HARD TO READ**In Tina's case, 11 months. In January, she was still walking. In March, she was in a wheelchair. In June, she needed assistance with feeding, dressing and using the bathroom. In August, she had been in and out of hospital three times. In September, she left the house for the hospital, never to reside in our house again. In October (too late), a feeding tube that never worked.December 22, hospice, to pass away December 29 at 3:10 p.m.I was holding her hand as she took her last breath and have been crying every day since.Sorry for being blunt, but this disease is brutal and devastating. To have to watch the person you would die for literally fade away because the only functioning part not affected is the brain, and they know what they want to do and say but can't. They can't eat, and eventually they can't even breathe, suffocating as you watch and beg God to stop it.
